Carole Hurlow LL.B (Hons)
Carole graduated from Cardiff University and qualified as a solicitor in 1982.
Carole was a partner in a leading Cardiff legal practice for 20 years until setting up Hurlows Family Law Practice in 2001.
Carole specialises in all aspects of family work, with particular emphasis on divorce, financial disputes and Children Act work.
Carole is a member of the Law Society Family Law Panel and Resolution.
Cindy Kukielka BA
Cindy has specialised in Children and Family Law since qualifying in 1994 and is a member of the Law Society Children Panel.
Cindy joined the practice in January 2003. Prior to this Cindy worked in a busy Child Care Department in the Gwent area and also spent 5 years working for Newport City Council where she gained valuable experience in all matters relating to social service involvement with children and families.
Since joining Hurlows, Cindy has built up an extensive practice specialising in representing children and adults in child care and related proceedings.
Mark McDaid LL.B (Hons)
Mark graduated from Coventry University with a 2:1 LL.B (Hons) and completed the Legal Practice Course at Cardiff University obtaining a commendation.
Mark joined Hurlows Family Law Practice in 2002 and qualified as a Solicitor in 2004.
Mark specialises in Child Care Law and has dealt with complex cases involving non-accidental injury, neglect, parents with learning difficulties, sexual and emotional abuse.
Mark is a member of the Law Society’s Children Panel.
Emma Sweeney LL.B (Hons)
Emma Sweeney LL.B (Hons)
Emma studied Law and German at Cardiff University, spending her third year abroad at Trier University where she successfully completed examinations in many aspects of German Law, including German Family Law.
Emma then went on to complete her Diploma in Legal Practice at Cardiff University, where she studied Family and Childcare Law electives, before joining Hurlows Family Law Practice in 2009 and going on to qualify as a Solicitor.
Emma can advise in relation to all matters involving children and specialises in public law proceedings where the Local Authority has issued care proceedings at Court. Emma has dealt with complex cases involving non-accidental injury, neglect, domestic violence, sexual and emotional abuse, parental substance and alcohol misuse, parents with learning difficulties and protected parties under the Mental Health Act.
Emma is also able to advise and provide representation in relation to making an application for contact with a child in care or to discharge a Care Order, Special Guardianship Orders and Child Arrangement Orders.
